How Chiropractic can Help Sciatica
We’ve helped a lot of individuals in our NE Minneapolis office who are stressed from sciatica, and it’s an issue that can result in tremendous suffering and disability. The good news is that you don’t have to suffer, because chiropractic care is a terrific way to get you out of pain.
The sciatic nerve is one of the major nerves in your body, and extends from your spine, through your pelvis, and down the back of your leg. Because this essential nerve travels through so many tight openings, it’s susceptible to being aggravated or pinched. Often sciatic pain stems in the lower back where the nerves leave the spinal column; at times the nerve can be irritated from the piriformis muscle in the pelvis. One of the first things Dr. Anderson will do is perform a careful examination that will help locate the actual root cause of your problems. This might not even be specifically where you’re feeling discomfort, as the nerve can be squeezed much higher up in your body than where you’re experiencing the pins and needles or numbness. Once we’ve identified the origin of your issues, we’ll be able to start working towards repairing the normal function of your spine and sciatic nerve. Removing restrictions or compression on the nerve will then relieve the symptoms.
